Day 1: My Fuco Arrives - But I Hit A Road Bump

I have finally decided it was time to get off of my lazy butt and get into shape. I haven't done any kind of exercise in nearly 2 years, since I tore my rotator cuff. My goal is to document my progress, good or bad, on this blog, in order to keep me motivated. So lets move on to day 1:

I have good news and I have bad news.

I will start with the good news. I got home from work 2 days ago, checked the mail, and there was a yellow bubble-wrap package from Ultra Health Networks sitting there for me. Yes! My Fuco Prime has arrived! For those of you who do not know what Fuco Prime is, let me enlighten you.

Scientists have discovered an interesting compound in marine plant life called Fucoxanthin that has shown in clinical studies to promote abdominal fat loss. Say good bye to belly fat!

Fuco Prime is a dietary supplement that's intended to be used with a calorie-conscious diet and moderate exercise. The main ingredient of Fuco Prime is fucoxanthin, a substance found naturally in some types of seaweed.

The problem with fucoxanthin is that you would need to eat a ridiculous amount of brown seaweed to get a good dose of the fat burning effects of fucoxanthin. Don’t worry though, that’s where Fuco Prime comes in. Through their special seaweed processing, they are able to extract and supply an effective dosage of pure fucoxanthin in capsule form.

My original plan was to start my 12 day exercise program while taking Fuco Prime. But I hit a bump in the road yesterday, my first day. First of all, I did not prepare myself for the 5-6 healthy meals I planned to eat each day. I started the day off with 3 egg whites and a small bag of carrots and then I headed off to work. I should have planned better and packed a lunch, or should I say lunches. I ended up going to Subway for lunch. I ordered a foot long Turkey breast sub with ONLY veggies, vinegar and mustard. I ate half of it, and then I ate the other half 3 hours later.

After I got home I had turkey breast, which I picked up from the deli, so I could have something in my stomach before my workout. I was all set... I did my workout. The workout consisted of a LOT of cardio with some weight lifting mixed in. My goal is to not only lose my belly, but to also gain muscle. Keep in mind this is the first time I have worked out in years. It was hard. It was VERY hard. But I got through it and did not quit. But after my workout, I started to get a pain in my leg/groin area. I didn't think too much of it because the pain was not unbearable, and I headed to bed after a quick healthy meal and a shower. After waking up this morning, the pain is much more and as the day goes on it hurts worse and worse.

I am not sure how long this will put me out of commission, but I am not going to give up. Obviously, I will not be able to do any cardio, but I am still going to try to lift some weights (something that does not involve my legs too much) and I will continue to take the Fuco Prime. Once my leg heals I will start up the cardio again and let you know how that goes.

Today I was more prepared when it came to my meals. I started the day with 3 egg whites and a handful of walnuts. That was my first meal.

Here are the meals I took to work with me:

Meal 2
Chicken salad with romaine lettuce, cucumbers and cherry tomatoes, with olive oil and and apple cider vinegar.

Meal 3
Very lean steak cuts with mushrooms
Banana
can of V-8

Meal 4
Turkey Breast Salad with romaine lettuce, cucumbers and cherry tomatoes with olive oil and and apple cider vinegar.

The last meal will be at home. I think it will be grilled salmon with a side salad.

Wish me luck on my pursuit to get fit, injury and all! :)
